October 6, 2006 We're fortunate to have many scans of WKLO music surveys on this Website, but viewing them is a problem for the vision-impaired. So we've begun to post text-based surveys on this page, which can be enjoyed by those with screen-reading software.

October 1, 2006 More scans of 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1971 WKLO Music Surveys have been added. We extracted some of the survey photos and put them on Photo Page 4. Thanks to Clyde Phillips III for letting us borrow the surveys to scan.

May 7, 2006 1080 in Louisville became country formatted WCII in the '80s. Thanks to Jim Banks for the scan of the Top 100 Country Hits of 1985 WCII survey.

April 21, 2006 Our appreciation to Rob Calhoun for providing two 1991 Courier-Journal columns about the end of WDJX-AM (formerly WKLO, WKJJ and WCII) and the WKLO DJ Reunion Weekend. We now know what newsman Robert Paul Westpheling sounded like on WKLO in the Spring of 1970, thanks to the aircheck he's contributed.

April 19, 2006 We added an aircheck of a complete 1968 morning drive newscast from J. Paul Roberts. It includes a bit of WKLO DJs Bill Bailey and Jack Sorbi.

March 21, 2006 Check out the note from Jim Rivers (WKLO DJ in '70 and '71) under his listing on the DJ Info Page. We've also been doing some sprucing up around the site, upgrading the menu system and hopefully making some of the pages easier to navigate.

January 27, 2006 You might not remember Steve Warren from his 1963 WKLO "Summer Fun Festival" gig, but this New Albany High School graduate remembers a lot about WKLO (and WAKY) in the early '60s. Due partly to what he learned at 'KLO, Steve went on to be a major market air personality. Find our audio interview with Steve here.

December 5, 2005 Thanks to Jay Marks for 1967 WKLO airchecks of Mitch Michael and Carl Truman Wiglesworth. Jay also provided a Summer '67 aircheck of Ken Douglas, who by that time had moved to WINN -- but we thought many WKLO fans might enjoy it.

September 23, 2005 War On The Airwaves is an article from the Scene section of the Courier-Journal from March 29, 1980. It offered a snapshot of the state of Louisville's "rock radio" (including WKLO successor KJ-100) right before 1980's Spring ratings period kicked off. Thanks to former WKLO Boss Jock Ron Lake for saving it for 25 years so we could share it with the world.

September 12, 2005 WKLO was history by 1982, but visitors to this site might be interested in the '82 Courier-Journal article "Voices In The Morning" which profiled all of Louisville's commercial radio AM drive DJs at that time -- including some with WKLO connections. Thanks to Leonard Yates for making it available for us to transcribe.
